Some stones are easy to find. Larimar is not one of them.
Sourced directly and ethically from the Dominican Republic, genuine Larimar exists in only one place on Earth - a single mountain in the Caribbean - making every piece a rare gift from the sea. I have been working with Larimar since 2012, and for most of those years, only smaller cabochons were available through my direct sourcing channels. These larger pieces have only begun to emerge in the past couple of years. This stone is on the smaller end of that new larger size and it is exceptional.
Larimar carries the frequency of the ocean. Known as the Dolphin Stone, it holds the natural playfulness, joy, and uninhibited aliveness that dolphins embody so effortlessly. It resonates with the song lines of the sea - those deep, invisible currents of sound and memory that move through water and through us - connecting the wearer to the water element and the wisdom of the water goddess.
It is a stone of the divine feminine, gently awakening the goddess within or restoring balance where the feminine and masculine have fallen out of harmony.
Larimar works quietly and persistently, dissolving self-sabotaging patterns, releasing non-beneficial attachments, and loosening the grip of past commitments that no longer serve the path forward.
Its energy is one of truth, peace, and calm communication. It soothes the nervous system, invites serenity, and creates space for clarity to arise naturally. For those moving through transition or ascension, Larimar is a steady, oceanic companion.
This is a single, one-of-a-kind pendant. Once it finds its person, it is gone.
Handwoven in my signature toasted sand cord - Linhasita Cor 879, 1mm, 100% waxed polyester from Brazil. Waterproof, fade-resistant, and colour-stable. This is the cord I reach for instinctively, my most-used thread across 14 years of micromacramé - warm, grounded, and quietly beautiful.
The pendant sits within a full wrap setting, allowing the natural luminosity of the Larimar to remain the centrepiece. The necklace strap is a 4-strand diamond braid, adjustable to 74cm (approximately 29 inches), finished with a handwoven fancy end closure.
This piece took approximately 2 hours to create, handmade with love in Whitianga, New Zealand.
